Pendant Stops Working
What To Check When Your Pendant Doesn't Work

when your pendant stops working

Your Pendant Sees More Abuse Than Any Other Part Of Your Crane System. It Gets Dropped On Concrete, Dragged Through Metal Shavings, Covered In Grease, And Often Operated With Dirty Gloved Hands. And Then Everyone Wonders Why The Pendant Control One Day Just Refuses To Work.

This Is What You Need To Check To Keep Your Pendant Working And To Prevent Downtime:

1. Check The Cable Boot, The Part Where The Cable Meets The Housing. If That Rubber Boot Is Cracked, It Might Be A Few Weeks Before Internal Wires Start Failing.

2. Are The Buttons Sticky Or Mushy? That’s Probably Moisture Getting Inside And Corroding The Circuit Board.

3. If The Cable Stays Coiled When It Is Hanging Free, The Internal Wires Are Wearing Out.

4. Run A Magnet Along The Cable And See If It Catches Or Feels Bumpy. If It Does, It Means That Metal Debris Is Embedded And Slowly Cutting Through The Jacket.

Most Pendant Failures Happen Gradually And Can Be Detected Early When It Is Maintained Regularly. But Hey, Life Happens.

Instead Of Struggling With A Pendant Control That Doesn’t Work The Way It Should, Give HP Cranes Consulting A Call. We’ll Take Care Of It For You.
